Last Saturday, the so-called 'Golden Week' began in China. Every year, it starts on the 1st of October with a big national holiday in honor of the founding of the People's Republic of China on the 1st of October 1949.

To celebrate the founding of the state, there are numerous events, such as the traditional flag ceremony in the capital Beijing. However, celebrations do not only take place on the 1st of October. Most Chinese have a whole week off - which is why people also talk about the golden week. Most people use the free time to visit their families.

For some years now, however, the golden week has been increasingly used for round trips or shopping. Luxury and gift items in particular are popular purchases, including high-end confectionery.

International shoppers interested in assortments of high-quality confectionery and snacks from Germany will find what they are looking for in our online shopping guide, the Sweets Export Guide. Here they will find a large selection of products from German Sweets members. Further news from the manufacturers also await you in our Product and Trade Fair Newsletter!
