Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today, on March 17th, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated according to an old Irish tradition. It goes back to Saint Patrick, who was the first missionary to bring Christianity to Ireland. In memory of him, large parades are still celebrated on the day of his death.

Today, these parades do not only take place in major Irish cities such as Dublin, but also around the world, like for example in New Yorkand Munich. In modern celebrations, the color green is the focus. This can be traced back to the three-leaf clover, the symbol of the patron saint. Celebrators not only dress up in green, but drink green-colored drinks and eat green sweets and snacks to celebrate.
