In glorious weather with a view of the Rhine Valley, German Sweets e. V. held its 46th General Meeting on the Drachenfels in Königswinter on June 15, 2023. In the board elections, Dr. Stefan Feit, Boettger Food Ingredients, was confirmed in office as Chairman. "Exports form the backbone of the German confectionery industry. German Sweets offers the ideal platform for our exchange of experience in the export business and creates valuable synergies for our companies," said Feit in his opening address. Also re-elected were the two Vice Chairmen Sebastian Jancke, Gebr. Jancke and Uwe Vielstich for Kalfany Süße Werbung. Barbara Tusky, Gut Springenheide, Michael de Voogd, Ludwig Schokolade, Holger Werner of Hanns G. Werner, Andreas Meindl, Seeberger, Corinna Wartenberg, Viba Sweets GmbH, and Stefan Hund of XOX Gebäck continue to play an active role on the board. Jan Fock of J. G. Niederegger was newly elected to the board. After 16 and 14 years of active commitment to export promotion, Günther Kraus, Eichetti, Carsten Hirsch, Dr. C. SOLDAN and Olaf Wilcke, (former Katjes International, Alfred Ritter, et al.) were bid farewell from the board with great thanks.
In the subsequent impulse session, the export specialists addressed the opportunities and risks posed by artificial intelligence and the pitfalls of commercial agency law. The conference was rounded off by a workshop on the organization and preparation of export projects during a company visit to Coppeneur in Bad Honnef.
