Chocolates are and remain the most popular confectionery category at Easter. So it's no wonder that this year, numerous chocolate treats have provided sweet delights for young and old alike again.
Seasonal products such as chocolate figures in the shape of the classic Easter bunny are particularly loved - but chocolate lambs and chicks are also very popular. The frontrunners here remain mainly figures made of milk chocolate, followed by dark and white chocolate.
A total of around 239 million chocolate bunnies were produced in Germany in 2022. While just under half of these (119 million) were sold in Germany, almost 120 million chocolate Easter bunnies found their way abroad. The demand for these chocolate Easter treats is particularly high in Germany's neighboring European countries, as well as in the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
